how do i file a lawsuit against a hospital?

going on 3 years ago i had my son, and during the process of getting an epidural the anesthesiologist did it incorrectly the 1st time.he had to come in for a 2nd epidural and was really upset about it.after my 2nd epidural i had so many problems (painful headaches), i ended up needing an epidural blood patch.i was told the spinal fluid was leaking because the epidural went in to far and the blood patch would seal the h*le that was made.

after going home with my son i continued to have problems, and to try an sum it up, all my problems we unnoticed.i went back to the er 2-3 times with the same headaches, i got more epidural blood patches, and even though i was still in pain after having the blood patch, they still kept sending me home.

to try an sum it up...after i called my gyno, he said i needed to go back an make them take a CT and let them know it was doctors orders, and they found out i had a subdural hematoma.i ended up having to have brain surgery due to a bad epidural an hospital negligence.they could have caught it sooner if they had not sent me home, i could have died if the vessel that busted hadn't clotted.i was told by doctors that they had never seen that happen.they only had two ways of explaining what happened..

1.a blood vessel in my brain busted due to the strain of having my son.(which could not be correct cuz i had my son in less then 30 minutes.i would have had him sooner, had they not asked me to stop pushing an wait for my doc.)

2.the spinal fluid kept leaking due to the puncher from the epidural.so much fluid leaked that it caused my brain to sag, and the pressure from my brain sagging caused a vessel to bust.

i have a lawyer that has had no progress in 3 years since this happened.can i change lawyers?what do i need to do to get something going?this is just the tip of all the problems i had while i was in there.i had brain surgery an my nurse didn't want to give me my pain meds.she thought i was asking for them to much (this is the night after i had my surgery) and she hung my call button behind my bed!!in ICU..i was in pain an couldn't talk well..my eye was sealed shut..i went through hell an was only 20 when it happened to me :-/

Have you sat down & talked with your attorney about why things haven't moved?If not, do that first.

If you have, just make an appointment with an attorney at another firm.Take your documentation with you.He/she can take things from there.
