In the early morning hours of last Saturday, August 13th, my Mom’s older brother finally succumbed to the cancer he had been diagnosed with last summer.В He was 66.
В My memories of him are mainly from when I was young.В His two sons were close in age to myself and my siblings so we were fairly close growing up.В My Uncle served in the Navy as a young man in the mid-1960sВ and then later became aВ postman which В he did until he retired a fewВ years ago.В В В В В
Yan Can Cook. One of my favorite memories of Uncle Bobby was about 20 years ago a cousin of mine was getting married in Florida.В The wh*le family flew down for the wedding.В
My aunt, his older sister, had arranged for us to go tubing down this river while she prepared for the wedding.В I remember Uncle Bobby sitting in the inner tube with his cut-off denim shorts and white t-shirt.В He was laughing.В For some reason that sticks out in my mind the most.В В
The memorial service is today.В Uncle Bobby, you will be missed, but never ever forgotten!
